✔️ How does Tendonil 60 work?

Acemetacin inhibits cyclooxygenase, preventing the formation of prostaglandins involved in the inflammation process.

✔️ Side Effects of Tendonil 60

• Common: anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, peptic ulceration, headache, dizziness, vertigo.
• Rare: confusion, depressed mood, edema, chest pain, elevated blood urea.

✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• May reduce the antihypertensive effect of beta-blockers.
• May prolong bleeding when used with acenocoumarol.
• Increased risk of convulsion when used with quinolone.
• Concurrent use of aspirin, NSAIDs, SSRIs, or corticosteroids may increase the risk of GI bleeding.

✔️ Pharmacology

Acemetacin, the active ingredient in Tendonil, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by blocking cyclooxygenase (COX), which is involved in producing irritant chemicals in response to injury or rheumatic disease. By blocking COX, acemetacin reduces pain and inflammation symptoms.

✔️ Dosage & Administration:

• Recommended starting dose: 120mg/day in divided doses, increasing to 180mg/day in divided doses based on patient response.
• Adjustment of dosage is generally not required for elderly patients, but NSAIDs should be used with caution due to the increased risk of adverse reactions.
• Acemetacin should be taken with food, milk, or an antacid to reduce the possibility of gastrointestinal disturbance.
