✔️ Dosage & Administration of Diproxen 500

Naproxen should be taken with water after meals.

Enteric-Coated Tablets – Adults

Rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: 500–1000 mg/day in two divided doses (every 12 hours). Max: 1000 mg/day.
Acute gout: 750 mg initially, then 250 mg every 8 hours until symptoms resolve.
Dysmenorrhea: 500 mg initially, then 250 mg every 6–8 hours as needed (up to 5 days).
Pain/musculoskeletal disorders: 500 mg initially, followed by 250 mg at 6–8 hour intervals.
Children under 16 years: Not recommended for tablets.

✔️ Drug Interactions

ACE inhibitors: Reduced antihypertensive effect.
Antacids/Sucralfate: Delay absorption.
Aspirin/Warfarin/SSRIs: Increased risk of GI bleeding.
Diuretics: Decreased natriuretic effect.
Methotrexate: Heightened toxicity risk.

Known hypersensitivity to Naproxen.
History of asthma or allergic reactions to NSAIDs or aspirin.
Use in post-CABG surgery pain is contraindicated.

✔️ Side Effects of Diproxen 500

GI: Nausea, indigestion, abdominal pain, diarrhea.
CNS: Headache, dizziness, drowsiness.
Skin: Rash, itching, purpura.
Cardiovascular: Edema, palpitations.
Other: Vision and hearing disturbances.

✔️ Use in Pregnancy & Lactation

May negatively impact fetal development, particularly in the third trimester. Use during the first and third trimesters should be carefully assessed.
Though small amounts pass into breast milk, some sources advise against use during breastfeeding.

✔️ Precautions & Warnings

Renal: Monitor kidney function in patients with impaired renal health. Risk of nephropathy, including nephrotic syndrome and interstitial nephritis.
Hepatic: Cases of jaundice have been reported.
Cardiovascular/GI Risk: Use with caution in those prone to GI bleeding or CV conditions.
