✔️ Dosage

For diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) in adults, the maximum recommended dose is 300 mg/day, starting with 150 mg/day and gradually increasing. For postherpetic neuralgia (PHN), the recommended dose is 150-300 mg/day, which can be increased up to 600 mg/day for those not achieving sufficient pain relief. For fibromyalgia, the dose is 300-450 mg/day, starting at 150 mg/day. For neuropathic pain due to spinal cord injury, the dose ranges from 150-600 mg/day.

Conversion from Pregabalin capsules to Pregabalin CR tablets: On the day of conversion, take the usual morning dose of Pregabalin capsules and start Pregabalin CR after dinner. If you miss a dose, follow the specific instructions regarding timing and meals to ensure the correct dose.

✔️ Administration:

Pregaben CR tablets should be taken orally, with or without food, after the evening meal. They should be swallowed whole and not crushed or chewed. If you miss a dose, follow the guidelines for when to take it based on your next meal time. When stopping the medication, it should be gradually tapered over a minimum of one week.

✔️ Interactions:

Pregaben CR is unlikely to have significant interactions with other drugs.

✔️ Side Effects

Common side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, dry mouth, swelling, blurred vision, weight gain, and difficulty concentrating. In children, increased weight and appetite may occur when used for seizures.

✔️ Pregnancy & Lactation

Pregabalin may pose risks to a fetus, and breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment due to potential risks.

✔️ Precautions:

• Discontinue immediately if severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling of the throat, hives) occur.
• Use cautiously with CNS depressants, as it may cause respiratory depression.
• Gradual withdrawal over a week is necessary to avoid complications.
• Pregabalin can cause peripheral swelling and should be monitored if taken with certain antidiabetic medications.
