Type 2 diabetes is a chronic metabolic disorder in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or cannot use it effectively. This leads to elevated blood sugar levels. Common symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, and increased hunger.

Linax 5 mg Tablet contains Linagliptin, which belongs to the class of DPP-4 (dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitors. It is used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, especially when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient to control blood glucose levels. Linagliptin works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which normally breaks down incretin hormones. By preventing this breakdown, incretins remain active for longer. These hormones help stimulate insulin release when blood sugar is high and reduce excess glucose production by the liver when it is not needed, thereby improving overall glycemic control.
