How Bet-CL Ointment works

Bet-CL Ointment is a mixture of two medications that cure skin infections: betamethasone and clotrimazole. Betamethasone is a steroid that inhibits the creation of molecular signals (prostaglandins) that cause the skin to become red, swollen, and itchy. Clotrimazole is an antifungal that prevents fungi from growing on the epidermis by stopping them from producing their protective coating.

How to use Bet-CL Ointment

Bet-CL Ointment is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the cream. Wash your hands after applying, unless your hands are the affected area.

• Bet-CL Ointment has been recommended for the therapy of fungal cutaneous diseases.
• It should only be used on the epidermis.
• It should not be used in the eyes, lips, or genitalia.
• If you get it in these regions by mistake, rinse it with cold water.
• Towels, combs, bedsheets, sandals, and stockings should not be shared with others.
• Unless instructed by a doctor, do not cover the region being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages, as this may increase the risk of adverse effects.
• Manage your tension by eating sensibly, drinking plenty of water, exercising frequently, and getting plenty of sleep.
• If you believe the region of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, discontinue use and contact your doctor.
• Use this medication no more frequently or for any length of time than your doctor has prescribed.
• If the treated skin region does not better after two weeks of treatment, notify your doctor.

Indication of Bet-CL 10 Ointment

(Betamethasone 0.1% + Clotrimazole 1%) are the active ingredients in Bet-CL 10 Ointment. Clotrimazole is an antifungal drug that inhibits fungus development by damaging and leaking the fungal cell membrane.  Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that inhibits the formation of prostaglandins (chemical mediators) that cause the afflicted region to become red, swollen, and itchy. Betamethasone is used to treat eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis due to its anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive characteristics.

Pharmacology of Bet-CL 10 Ointment

A broad-spectrum antifungal agent called clotrimazole may be used to treat shallow contaminations brought on by certain pathogenic yeasts, dermatophytes, and Malassezia furfur species. Ergosterol, a significant sterol found in the parasitic cell film, can be prevented from being synthesized by using the instrument of activity. The cell membrane becomes unstable as a result, and the organism may pass through. A corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, anti-pruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties might be betamethasone dipropionate. However, it is unclear what exact mechanism corticosteroids work by.

Dosage & Administration of Bet-CL 10 Ointment

• For 2 weeks in tinea corporis, tinea cruris, and tinea pedis, adequate topical preparation should be applied to the affected and surrounding skin areas twice daily, in the morning and evening. It is not advised to use this cream for more than four weeks.
• Children under the age of 12 have not been studied to determine the preparation's safety and efficacy.

Interaction

Inform your doctor if you are taking any prescribed or over-the-counter medications, including natural or vitamin supplements. Clotrimazole, which is present in Quadriderm RF Cream 5 gm, may decrease the efficacy of rubber condoms.

Before using Quadriderm RF Cream 5 gm, inform your doctor if you have a history of illnesses or adverse responses to medications.

Contraindications

Patients who are sensitive to any of its ingredients, other corticosteroids, or imidazoles should not use this topical formulation. If using the cream causes irritation or sensitization, treatment should be stopped and alternative treatment foundations should be used. The cream should not be used if you have perioral dermatitis, facial rosacea, skin break-out Vulgaris, serviette ejections, perianal and genital pruritus, or bacterial or viral contaminations. Topical corticosteroids can cause reversible concealment of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) hub when they are retained systemically. If HPA pivot concealment is well-known, an effort should be made to reduce the frequency of application or reduce the amount of sedation. Due to their large skin surface-to-body mass, pediatric patients may be more susceptible to systemic harm from comparable dosages.

Pregnancy & Lactation

There is limited data on how the Bet-CL Ointment affects pregnancy. Please consult your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or are already pregnant before starting Bet-CL Ointment

Please consult your doctor before using Bet-CL Ointment if you are breastfeeding. If you need to apply the cream or ointment on your breasts, don't do this shortly before giving a feed.

Precautions & Warnings

• There is insufficient evidence of safety during pregnancy. Although it is foetotoxic at high doses, clotrimazole is not teratogenic in animals.
• Using corticosteroids topically on pregnant animals can lead to issues with fetal development.
• The cream should therefore not be used in large doses or for extended periods during pregnancy, and should only be used if the benefit justifies the risk to the fetus.
• When administering the preparation to nursing women, caution should be taken because it is unknown whether any of the ingredients are excreted in human milk.
