Nystatin is used to treat fungal skin infections. Indication of Exovate N Cream

Exovate N Cream is a combination of three medicines: Clobetasol, Nystatin, and Neomycin, which treat skin infections. Clobetasol is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Nystatin is used to treat fungal skin infections. Nystatin is an antifungal that works by stopping the growth of fungus. Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by the bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Pharmacology

These three active ingredients in Exovate N Cream work together to treat inflammatory skin conditions that are complicated by bacterial or fungal infections. Clobetasol propionate reduces inflammation by constricting blood vessels and reducing collagen production, while neomycin sulfate fights bacterial infections by inhibiting protein synthesis. Nystatin, on the other hand, combats fungal infections by altering the permeability of fungal cell membranes. The combination of these three ingredients makes Exovate N cream a potent treatment option for severe skin conditions that have not responded to milder treatments. Dosage of Exovate N Cream

• The recommended application for adults is to apply sparingly to the affected area once or twice daily until improvement occurs. In cases of very resistant lesions, especially where there is hyperkeratosis, the anti-inflammatory effect of the preparation can be enhanced by occluding the treatment area with polythene. However, treatment should not be continued for more than 7 days without medical supervision. If a longer course is necessary, it is recommended that treatment should not be continued for more than 4 weeks without the patient's condition being reviewed.
• For elderly patients, this preparation is suitable for use. However, caution should be exercised in cases where a decrease in renal function exists, as significant systemic absorption of Neomycin Sulphate may occur.
• For children aged 2 years and over, the preparation is suitable for use at the same dose as adults. However, there is a possibility of increased absorption in very young children, and therefore, this cream/ointment is not recommended for use in neonates and infants younger than 2 years.

Administration of Exovate N Cream
