Fona 0.3% Gel

Indication of Fona 0.3%

A drug called Fona Gel is used to treat mild to moderate acne. It stops the skin from developing tiny pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads. It lessens the skin's excessive oil production, lessens inflammation, or unclogs clogged pores. Only use Fona Gel externally. Always use it exactly as directed by your doctor.

Pharmacology

Adapalene works by activating retinoid receptors, which are frequently present in the skin of the chest, back, and face. Adapalene is a modulator of cellular differentiation, keratinization, and inflammatory processes, all of which represent significant features in the pathology of acne vulgaris, according to biochemical and pharmacological studies. Adapalene interacts with particular nuclear retinoic acid receptors to normalize the differentiation of follicular epithelial cells, which reduces the production of microcomedones. Adapalene does not absorb very well through human skin.

Dosage and administration of Fona 0.3%

• Check the label for directions before use.
• Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel.
• Wash your hands after applying, unless your hands are the affected area.

Adapalene 0.1%: 

It should be applied to the affected areas of skin, once daily at night-time.

Adapalene 0.3%: 

It should be applied to the entire face and any other affected areas of the skin, once daily in the evening.

Children below 12 years of age:

Safety and effectiveness in children below 12 years of age have not been established. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

Interaction of Fona 0.3%

Use of other potentially aggravating topical products concurrently should be approached with caution (cracked or rough cleansers and cleansers, cleansers and makeup that have a strong drying impact, items with high concentrations of liquor, astringents, flavors, or lime). Exercise extra caution when combining Adapalene with arrangements that contain sulfur, resorcinol, or salicylic acid. If any of these methods have been used, it is wise to wait to start Adapalene treatment until the effects of those methods have subsided in the skin. If the combined use of both medications is necessary, it is preferable to take them at two different times.

Contraindications

Adapalene should not be administered to individuals who are hypersensitive to Adapalene or any of its components.

Side effects of Fona 0.3%

Erythema, scaling, dryness, pruritus, burning sensation, skin irritation, stinging sunburn, acne flares, etc. are commonly seen during the first month of therapy but usually lessen with continued use of the medication.

Pregnancy and lactation

Use Adapalene during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is not known whether this drug is excreted in breast milk. Exercise caution when administering Adapalene to a nursing mother.

Precautions & Warnings

• Avoid being in UV light, both natural and artificial. It is advised to wear protective clothing and non-comedogenic sunscreen products over the treated area.
• Keep it out of your mouth and eyes. If this occurs, immediately rinse with water.
  Apply sparingly, taking care to avoid sensitive or sunburned skin. If you experience unusual skin dryness, redness, or peeling, let your doctor know.
• Adapalene should not be applied to cuts, abrasions, or eczematous skin.
• Do not undergo any cosmetic procedures without first consulting your doctor.

Storage Conditions

Store below 25° C. and in a dry place. Do not freeze.
