✔️ How does Atrogen 1% Eye Drops work?

Atropine is an anticholinergic agent which competitively blocks the muscarinic receptors in peripheral tissues. It also has mydriatic and cycloplegic effects.

✔️ Side Effects of Atrogen 1% Eye Drops

Common side effects include dry mouth, dysphagia, constipation, flushing, dry skin, tachycardia, palpitations, arrhythmias, mydriasis, photophobia, and cycloplegia. Toxic dosages may lead to restlessness, disorientation, excitation, hallucinations, delirium, and circulatory failure.

✔️ Quick Suggestions:

• Use Atrogen 1% Eye Drops as directed by your physician. It is meant for ophthalmic (eye) use only.
• Before application, wash your hands thoroughly to ensure cleanliness.
• Tilt your head slightly backward and hold the container close to your eyes.
• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket for instilling the drops.
• Dispense the prescribed number of drops into the pocket created by pulling down your lower eyelid. Follow your physician's instructions regarding the number of drops to be used.
• Close your eyes gently immediately after instilling the drops.
• Press lightly on the inner corner of your closed eye for approximately 2 minutes. This helps prevent the medication from draining out and enhances its absorption.
• If instructed to apply in both eyes, repeat the process for the other eye using a separate container if needed.
• Ensure that the tip of the container does not come into contact with your eyes, eyelids, surrounding areas, or fingers to prevent contamination.
• Remove soft contact lenses before using Atrogen 1% Eye Drops. Wait at least 10 minutes before reinserting them.

Atrogen 10 ml, containing atropine, is indicated for various conditions including:

Atropine binds to muscarinic acetylcholine receptors, inhibiting them and resulting in several anticholinergic actions. It decreases heart block caused by vagal activity, relaxes smooth muscles of the bronchi and intestines, reduces glandular secretions, and has cycloplegic and mydriatic effects.
