An antibiotic called Iventi 0.5% is used to treat bacterial eye infections. Preventing the spread of harmful microorganisms reduces the infection's symptoms. Iventi 0.5% is only to be used externally. As directed by your doctor, take it for the prescribed amount of time.

Pharmacology of Iventi 0.5%

The inhibition of topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and topoisomerase IV by moxifloxacin produces its antimicrobial effects. Interaction of Iventi 0.5%

Studies on drug-drug interactions with Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride ophthalmic solution have not been done. Moxifloxacin is unlikely to affect the pharmacokinetics of medications metabolized by CYP3A4, CYP2D6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, or CYP1A2, according to in vitro studies that show it does not inhibit these cytochrome P450 isozymes

Contraindications of Iventi 0.5%

Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride ophthalmic solution is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to Moxifloxacin, to other quinolones, or to any of the components in this medication.

SIde Effects of Iventi 0.5%:

The most frequently reported ocular adverse events were conjunctivitis, decreased visual acuity, dry eye, keratitis, ocular discomfort, ocular hyperemia, ocular pain, ocular pruritus, subconjunctival hemorrhage, and tearing. These events occurred in approximately 1-6% of patients. Monocular adverse events reported at a rate of 1-4% were fever, increased cough, infection, otitis media, pharyngitis, rash, and rhinitis

Pregnancy & Lactation

• Since there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride ophthalmic solution should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.
• Moxifloxacin has not been measured in human milk, although it can be presumed to be excreted in human milk. Caution should be exercised when Moxifloxacin hydrochloride ophthalmic solution is administered to a nursing mother.

Precautions & Warnings

• Similar to other anti-infectives, prolonged use can lead to an overgrowth of organisms that are not susceptible, including fungi. If superinfection occurs, stop using and start an alternative form of treatment.
• The patient should always be examined under magnification, such as with slit lamp biomicroscopy, and, when necessary, with fluorescein staining.
• If a patient exhibits symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis, they should be advised not to wear contact lenses.
• It may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines.

Storage Conditions of Iventi 0.5%

Store below 25°C. Do not freeze. Store in a cool and dry place, protected from light. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not touch the dropper tip to any surface as this may contaminate this preparation. Do not use it after one month of the first opening.
