Indications of Feofol-CI

This pill is used to treat, manage, prevent, and improve the symptoms of the following illnesses and conditions:

• deficiency in iron
• Treatment of folic acid deficiencies that cause megaloblastic anemia
• Treatment of nutritionally-based anemias during pregnancy, infancy, or childhood
• Other uses not covered here are possible for this.

Pharmacology

The pill is used to treat nutritional anemia, megaloblastic anemia brought on by folic acid deficiency, iron deficiency, pregnancy, infant or childhood illnesses, and other diseases. Additionally, uses for the capsule that is not covered in this medication guide are possible.

Folic acid and carbonyl iron are the active ingredients in this capsule. It produces red blood cells and gives the body oxygen; it acts on the megaloblastic bone marrow to create blast bone marrow normally.

Dosage & Administration of Feofol-CI

One capsule daily. In more severe cases, 2 capsules a day may be required or as directed by the physician.

Interaction of Feofol-CI

The effects of this capsule may vary if you also take other medications or over-the-counter medications. This could make your medication less effective or put you at greater risk for side effects. Inform your doctor of all the medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements you take so they can assist you in avoiding or managing drug interactions. With the following medicines and products, it might interact: Alcohol, Antibiotics, Barbiturates, Bisphosphonates, Diphenylhydantoin, Levodopa, Levothyroxine, Methotrexate, Methyldopa, Nitrofurantoin

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to this capsule is a contraindication. In addition, this capsule should not be used if you have the following conditions: Hypersensitivity, Intolerance to the drug.

Side Effects of Feofol-CI

The following is a list of potential negative effects that any of the capsule's constituent substances could cause. This is by no means an exhaustive list. These negative effects are possible, but they do not always occur. Some of the negative effects are unusual, but they are dangerous. Contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects, especially if they persist.

• Constipation
• Diarrhea
• Stomach cramps
• Upset stomach
• Allergic reactions
• Anorexia
• Nausea
• Abdominal distension
• Flatulence
• Bitter or bad taste
• Altered sleep patterns
• Difficulty in concentrating
• Irritability

Precautions & Warnings

Inform your doctor about your current medications, over-the-counter products (e.g., vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.), allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions before taking this capsule (e.g. pregnancy, upcoming surgery, etc.). Some medical conditions may make you more susceptible to the drug's side effects. Take as directed by your doctor or as directed on the product insert. The dosage is determined by your medical condition. Inform your doctor if your condition worsens or persists. The following are important counseling points.

• Administration of folic acid alone is improper therapy for pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias in which vitamin B12 is deficient
• Avoid alcohol consumption, especially if having alcoholic cirrhosis
• Avoid taking antacids within 2 hours while taking this medicine
• Do not take this medicine if you have too much iron builds
• Folic acid in doses above 0.1 mg daily may obscure the diagnosis of pernicious anemia
• Pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding
• Risk of obscuring the diagnosis of pernicious anemia
• Take this medicine without a meal
• Vitamin B12 is used to treat pernicious anemia.

Storage Conditions

Store medicines at room temperature, away from heat and direct light. Do not freeze medicines unless required by package insert. Keep medicines away from children.
