Centradol 50mg Tablet, classified as an opioid, is a potent analgesic utilized to manage moderate to severe pain. Dosage & Administration of

For the treatment of moderate to severe acute pain, the initial dose is typically 50 mg, 75 mg, or 100 mg, administered every 4 to 6 hours based on the intensity of pain. On the first day of treatment, an additional dose may be administered 1 hour after the initial dose if adequate pain relief is not achieved. Subsequent doses can be given every 4 to 6 hours, with adjustments made according to the patient's response. The maximum daily dose on the first day should not exceed 700 mg, while on subsequent days, it should not exceed 600 mg.

For elderly individuals, it is advisable to initiate the dosage at the lower end of the recommended range.

In cases of mild hepatic impairment, no dosage adjustment is typically required. However, for moderate hepatic impairment, the initial dosage is usually 50 mg every 8 hours, with a dosing frequency not exceeding 3 times daily. Centradol 50mg Tablet is generally not recommended for individuals with severe hepatic impairment.

Safety and efficacy data for pediatric use are not established.

In individuals with renal impairment, dosage adjustments are usually not necessary when creatinine clearance (CrCl) is greater than 30 mL/min. However, Centradol 50mg Tablet is generally not recommended for those with CrCl less than 30 mL/min.

Known or suspected paralytic ileus, a condition where the intestines are partially or completely blocked. Tapentadol can further slow down gut motility, exacerbating this condition.

Acute intoxication with substances such as alcohol, hypnotics, centrally acting analgesics or psychotropic drugs. Combining these substances with Tapentadol can increase the risk of central nervous system depression and other adverse effects.

Concurrent or recent (within 2 weeks) therapy with monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), a class of antidepressants. Combining Tapentadol with MAOIs can lead to serious and potentially life-threatening interactions, such as serotonin syndrome.

If you have been taking TAPENTA 100MG TABLET for quite some time and you stop suddenly, you may experience symptoms such as restlessness, runny nose, yawning, watery eyes, sweating, chills, muscle pain, joint pain, dilated pupils, irritability, anxiety, backache, weakness, abdominal cramps, etc. If you feel any such symptoms or at all you wish to discontinue taking TAPENTA 100MG TABLET, ask for your doctor’s advice.
