Patients with significant pathological cardiac conditions, including heart failure (NYHA class II-IV), conduction abnormalities (2nd- or 3rd-degree AV block or sick sinus syndrome) that are not treated with a permanent pacemaker, significant ischemic heart disease, or significant valvular disease.
3. Concomitant use of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or use within 14 days of discontinuing MAOI treatment. Similarly, an MAOI should not be administered within 7 days after discontinuing Dapoxetine.
4. Concomitant use of thioridazine or use within 14 days of discontinuing thioridazine treatment. Similarly, thioridazine should not be administered within 7 days after discontinuing Dapoxetine.
5. Concomitant use of serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (such as selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin-norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors (SNRIs), tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs)), or other medicinal/herbal products with serotonergic effects or use within 14 days of discontinuing these medicinal/herbal products. Similarly, these medicinal/herbal products should not be administered within 7 days after discontinuing Dapoxetine.

Pregnancy & Lactation

Dapoxetine is not recommended for women. Dapoxetine and its metabolites are not known to be excreted in human breast milk.

Precautions & Warnings

It is important to avoid the use of Dapoxetine in combination with recreational drugs, as they may have serotonergic activity. Combining Dapoxetine with recreational drugs such as ketamine, MDMA, and LSD can lead to potentially serious reactions, including arrhythmia, hyperthermia, and serotonin syndrome. Similarly, combining Dapoxetine with sedative recreational drugs like narcotics and benzodiazepines may increase the risk of somnolence and dizziness.

Alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking Dapoxetine, as it can enhance alcohol-related neurocognitive effects and increase the risk of neurocardiogenic adverse events, such as syncope. Patients should be advised to refrain from drinking alcohol while on Dapoxetine treatment.

Patients may experience prodromal symptoms such as nausea, dizziness/lightheadedness, and diaphoresis more frequently when taking Dapoxetine compared to placebo. An orthostatic test should be performed before initiating therapy, especially in patients with a history of documented or suspected orthostatic reactions.

Dapoxetine is not intended for the treatment of psychiatric disorders and should not be used in men with these conditions, such as schizophrenia or co-morbid depression, as it may worsen symptoms associated with depression.

Abrupt discontinuation of Dapoxetine or other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) used to treat chronic depressive disorders may result in withdrawal effects, including dysphoric mood, irritability, agitation, dizziness, sensory disturbances, anxiety, confusion, headache, lethargy, emotional lability, insomnia, and hypomania. Gradual tapering of the medication is recommended under medical supervision.

Dumax 30mg Tablet should not be used by patients with bleeding disorders, epilepsy, angle-closure glaucoma susceptibility, or high intraocular pressure. It is not intended for use in women.

Patients who are poor metabolizers of the CYP2D6 enzyme may have increased exposure to Dapoxetine and should use the medication with caution.

If you have allergies to any components of Dumax 30mg Tablet, heart problems, mania or severe depression, moderate to severe liver problems, a history of fainting, or if you are taking medications that interact with Dapoxetine, you should not take Dumax 30mg Tablet.
